Night(s) out and "New" Roomie

In all of the hoopla surrounding our house, and our massive following, I have failed to introduce the newest addition to the family (crowd awaits eagerly as drumroll ensues). Scott Cameron!!!

Scotty Cam - the old adage, "Age is but a number" is personified in Scott. Although he is another freshman in college, he has shattered social standards of freshman not being able to handle the world on their own. He has bravely taken upon the task of putting the cable bill in his name. Other acts of courage and leisure include snowboarding, looking like Ron Weasley, and wearing Marmot while sleeping in an ENO and criticizing North Face. His height has an inverse relationship to the amount that he loves Jesus (and he LOVES Jesus).

I have been spending the last few nights out over at the Brahams, staying with their son, Austin, whom is my homie (correct use of "whom"?). I'm fearing going home, because I am actually due to go grocery shopping soon, which as of right now, my best time is 1 hour 24 min. I'm learning.

NOTICE: The Mystic Seaport may be in for a name change (even though the name is already viral), and we should be taking a family photo soon. If not, a picture of Scotty will show you everything you need to know.

J.T. - Wasps and Dinner

I promise I'm not a liar. I've been meaning to post, but things have been pretty busy lately. We all just went to Rockbridge for a region-wide Young Life overnight. It was pretty epic. I digress, and I will do my best to be posting more often.

Jacob and I had an epic battle with a rogue wasp just a half an hour ago. It was one of the scariest moments of my life as the wasp tried to assassinate me whilst grabbing a snack from the fridge. Luckily Jacob had a shoe at the ready to beat his a. So we're just on the look out for more little critters roaming around our house. If you have any advice as to how to send these creatures (mice as well - they have been making a random appearance in our bread) back to the hell from whence they came.

Indian River YL is having their first get together tomorrow here at the house. If one of the 6 followers of this blog goes to Indian River High School, you're more than welcome over for delicious food and stimulating conversation!

J.T. - Internet!

We finally have internet in the house! So you can start expecting more posts, more frequently. With that, I'll be back from out of town on Saturday, and you'll have to read more about life in the Mystic Seaport then.

Keep those prayer requests coming in!

J.T. - Weekend/Grocery shopping is terrible

This marks the first post in nearly a month. I decided to start putting my name next to the post, if the other guys want to post stuff on the blog. Things have really picked up around here. The house seems to be the hub of all activity in our lives. It's finally set in that we aren't just living in a dorm for school, but that this is our home. Really stoked about that. It's made it hard to post regularly with all of the activity, and the lack of internet plays a slight factor. We are getting that fixed this week though, which will be nothing short of epic. This weekend coming up is going to be the first weekend that I am going to spend in the house without any huge events. It will probably look like any other weekend, but I haven't experience a normal weekend in a while so this will be special.

I went grocery shopping for the first time in my life by myself. It was probably the worst hour and a half I've ever spent in store. When I had "finished", I had a total of 8 things in my cart. What the heck. So I called Pam Boisseau to help me with finding stuff, and she helped a ton. I even stayed under my budget. So maybe it wasn't so bad, but maybe one day God will hook me up with someone who is better equipped for such a task...

God has been really awesome recently. I met a bunch of guys at Indian River High School, which is where I lead Young Life. The goal is to meet 100 by the end of the month. Meet and know who they are. I am actually not a huge fan of going up to the high school, and going up to kids to introduce myself to kids who think I am some creepy college dude who can't let go of the wonder years. It's scary, but God has spoken to that in my time in the Word. Joshua was told on multiple occasions to "be strong and courageous". It's been an intense study on that phrase for a while, so we'll see where were at. Jacob told me to write a book about what I learn, so I might just do that. Just kidding, I hate writing.

If you're interested in being on a prayer team for Indian River YL, send me an email address, and I'll keep you updated on what's going on! Send prayer requests as well!
